Founded in 2011, AztecsKillingHim is a blog devoted to covering SDSU football and basketball like they’ve never been covered before — by a glorified heckler with no access to the team and very possibly no pants.

What else sets this site apart from the other blogs and message boards devoted to the Aztecs, you ask? Grammar and punctuation, mostly. Also, way too many references to crappy 80s sitcoms. But we are also devoted to the idea that this is not a place to take your team — or yourself — too seriously.

That’s a good rule of thumb because being an Aztec fan usually means misery. Take for instance, losing a bowl game on an illegal stemming call. THAT IS A THING THAT JUST HAPPENED.

Which leads me to the name: AztecsKillingHim. That’s what following this program has been doing. Slowly, but surely. Year by year. Like erosion.

See, I came of age during the Tom Craft era — which was a truly great time to come of age if you were a connoisseur of mustaches, slapping offensive tackles and flanker screens on 3rd-and-10. Someday I’ll regale my grandchildren with tales of a 4-yard completion from Adam Hall to Devin Pitts (they’ll place me assisted living shortly thereafter).

And we all have our own stories of Aztec anguish. This site is meant to both mock and celebrate that fact.

So I invite you to cry with us and laugh with us as SDSU fights on, and on. Think of it as free group therapy.

So come on, let’s hug it out. I promise to wear pants.
