Number four team in conference? Yeah, that sounds about right.
San Diego State won it’s eighth consecutive Senior Night game sending off Tapley, Rahon and Stephens in style. Well, not so much. They were too late in getting a reservation so instead of a stretch limo, they have a Lincoln Town Car. Also they had to share it with a business man who just needs a ride from the airport to the Marriot in Mission Valley. It won’t take long at all.
What I’m trying to say is that they played poorly. Or at least they shot poorly. I listened to Uncle Teddy’s broadcast and I’m doped up on some crazy antibiotics, so I don’t actually know how well they played. But box score don’t lie: they shot like crap.
Still, by virtue of this win and Boise St.’s loss to UNLV on Tuesday, the Aztecs have guaranteed no lower than a 4-seed*. SDSU will very likely play Boise St. in back-to-back games on Saturday and Thursday Wednesday**. Considering how close 4 of the 5 games between the Aztecs and Broncos have been, you might want to stock up on alcohol and anti-anxiety meds. Also maybe find a nice place alone to watch the games. Perhaps in a hospital. There is a good chance you might have a heart attack or two in the next week.
* They could technically garner a 3-seed should they win at Boise St. and Colorado St. loses at home to Nevada. But let’s be reasonable, shall we?
** Should Air Force beat New Mexico in Colorado Springs and the Aztecs prevail against the Broncos, the Falcons will hold the tie-breaker and will earn the 5-seed. I know this is complicated but SDSU will face either AFA or BSU in the first round as either the 3 vs 6 game or the 4 vs 5 game.

Those must be some choice meds. The 4-5 game is Weds, as are all the 1st round tourney battles.
Verified and corrected.
Weird. Didn’t the women’s quarters used to be on Wed and the Men on Thurs? Wonder when and why they changed it.
The alcohol and meds are good advice considering this year’s team. And still getting over Poinsettia Bowl and BYU. And those nightmares when I see a pair white guys wearing matching white sleeve shirts peddling matching 10-speeds.
