SDSU’s new basketball sponsor
Well, that was fun.
I’m guessing it is a good thing that Tom Ables was such a big football fan and didn’t instead dedicate his life to watching the basketball team play. I don’t know if he would’ve made it as long as he has.
Raise your hand if you like to watch the Aztecs dominate a team from buzzer to buzzer such that there was no doubt that the game was firmly in control.

Yeah. That’s kinda what I thought.
This win keeps the Aztecs in the chase for the title, though 2 games back and with a brutal second half. Holding serve at home shouldn’t be too hard but the final 4 road games are UNLV, Colorado St., UNM and Boise St. You probably only get to lose one or maybe two of those for a share of the title.
As far as the game goes, SDSU is nothing if not consistant at home. And by that I mean, they consistently open up big leads early and then manage to piss them away as the game clock winds down. Tonight was no exception, and I would continue to expect the same as the season wraps up.
Lastly, I want to take a moment here to apologize to my buddy’s wife who was watching their newborn in the other room while he and I watched the game. I was assured that the baby was crying due to a diaper change and not our loud swearing and cheering, but I’m sure all our noise didn’t help. Sorry baby Yazz!
Update:
Apparently I’m not supposed to assume you’ve seen the game when I recap it. Personally, if you are coming here to find out what happened you have other problems but I digress. In case you missed it, this is the only part of the game you needed to see:
Three tight wins vs. Boise in a 4-game span. Karma stacked against us when we travel to Boise. They’re going to shit all over us in that one.
I have heard rumors that Chase Tapley made some manner of basket. Can you confirm?
You sell Mr. Aztec short. Of course, he was there last night, ticker still intact as of this morning. In fact, he has been to more Aztec basketball games than football. If he can survive the end-of-Smokey through Trenkle eras, he can withstand anything.
Well, that is good to hear. Thankfully that man must have a ticker not damaged by the bad choices of my youth.
